International Applicants

Admission to the State University of Applied Sciences in Chełm

An international applicant is any person who does not hold Polish citizenship. Individuals holding Polish citizenship, including those with dual citizenship, are considered Polish citizens under Polish law and must follow the admission procedures applicable to Polish nationals.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

International applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. a signed application form generated through the Internet Registration of Candidates (IRK) system;
  2. a written consent from the applicant’s legal guardian (for applicants under the age of 18);
  3. a valid passport (original for verification);
  4. proof of payment of the admission fee (PLN 85 or PLN 100 for programmes requiring an entrance examination);
  5. a medical certificate confirming that there are no health contraindications to studying in programmes where students may be exposed to hazardous or harmful factors, where applicable;
  6. a secondary school leaving certificate or higher education diploma entitling the holder to undertake university studies, recognised as equivalent to the relevant Polish qualification and bearing an Apostille or legalisation, where required;

All documents issued in a language other than Polish must be accompanied by a certified translation prepared by a sworn translator entered on the official register maintained by the Polish Minister of Justice.

Tuition Fees

As a rule, international students are required to pay tuition fees.

However, full-time programmes taught in Polish are tuition-free for applicants who meet the conditions specified in the Polish law on Higher Education and Science, including:

  1. citizens of the European Union Member States, Switzerland, or EFTA country that is a party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), and their eligible family members residing in Poland;
  2. citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland referred to in Article 10(1)(b) or (d) of the Agreement on the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community (OJ L 29, 31 January 2020, p. 7, as amended), and their family members residing in Poland;
  3. holders of a permanent residence permit or EU long-term resident status;
  4. holders of specific temporary residence permits provided for in Articles 127, 137a, 159(1), or Article 186(1)(3) or (4) of the Act of 12 December 2013 on Foreigners (Journal of Laws of 2024, items 769, 1222 and 1688, and of 2025, item 619).
  5. persons granted refugee status, subsidiary protection or temporary protection in Poland;
  6. holders of a State Certificate of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language laid down in Article 11a(2) of the Act of 7 October 1999 on the Polish Language (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 672, and of 2023, item 1672) at C1 level or higher;
  7. holders of the Polish Card (Karta Polaka) or persons whose Polish origin has been officially confirmed;
  8. spouses, parents or children of Polish citizens residing in Poland;
  9. researchers and holders of residence permits or visas issued for scientific research, in accordance with the applicable legislation.

Applicants who do not qualify under any of the above categories may still apply for admission on a tuition-fee basis.

Applicants entitled to tuition-free education must submit a copy of the document confirming their eligibility (the original must be presented for verification).
